A State Of Trance 600 Tour Announced!

Rumor has it! Yes, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia is listed among the 6 cities; Sao Paulo, Den Bosch, New York, Beirut, Mexico City.

KL tour will fall on the 15th March. Isn't that a week before the F1 race in KL?

That's right!

My guess; Future Music Festival Asia.

Armin Van Buuren's A State of Trance 600th Episode in Kuala Lumpur. This is a revolution in our dance music scene. Malaysia is now in the world's party map!

**UPDATE**

According to In The Mix, it is confirmed ASOT 600 is a part of Future Music Festival and it's a 2-day festival.

ASOT 600 is taking over one day at the weekend-long Malaysian leg of Future Music Festival, so stay tuned for details of travel packages and special deals for those holding FMF tickets in Australia. Armin’s spectacular will do Friday night, while The Prodigy and the rest of the line-up steps up on Saturday.

Aren't you glad that Armin van Buuren is finally making his way for a festival show in Malaysia? The best part is; it happens on the same weekend as Ultra Music Festival in Miami and we're not getting a watered-down Future Music Festival! Cheers to that!

Start saving, people!

ADVANCE WARNING: Justice (DJ Set) @ Potato Head Beach Club, Bali - Indonesia (26/7/2012)

For the first time in South East Asia, the lord of french electro Justice will be making their way to Bali to baptize their devotees. Although it is not their majestic electrifying live set, there is no excuse to miss this... Even though it's in the month of Ramadhan. Okay, don't get biblical on me. :p

JUSTICE (stylized as Jus†ice) is a French electronic music duo consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. The duo is one of the most successful groups on Ed Banger Records. Justice is known for incorporating a strong rock and indie influence into their music and image.

Their debut album † was released in June 2007 to critical acclaim which it was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album, came in at number 15 on Pitchfork’s Top 50 Albums of 2007 and number 18 on Blender’s “25 Best Albums of 2007″ list. Pretty amazing for a newcomer at that time. I have the album and it was stuck on replay in my car. The best album I have ever bought. Recently came out with their second album, I'm pretty much sure it will be one hell of a party!

Hear Me: Autoerotique 'Roll The Drums' (JFK Edit)

I'm having a Steve Aoki party withdrawal syndrome. So I'm gonna share this video that I just got in my inbox. Thanks to the guys at Dim Mak. AutoErotique just drop their latest EP entitled EKG recently. I haven't got the chance to hear it. But this one right here caught my attention; JFK's edit version of 'Roll The Drums'. In case you didn't know, JFK is one-half of MSTRKRFT and I've been following them since the electroclash era (aka when hipsters were still underground). Dim Mak peeps are kind enough to provide you with a free download of AutoErotique 'Roll the Drums' (JFK Edit) in celebrating the EP release. Download the track here.

AFTER PARTY: Jessie J Live in Malaysia @ Sunway Lagoon (16/3/2012)

The winner of BBC Sound of 2011, Jessie J was in our shores last Friday night at Sunway Lagoon. As a part of her 2012 tour, Jessie J put up a jaw-dropping performance.

Personally, I never liked her when I first heard of 'Price Tag'. But everything changed as I heard 'Who You Are' because she really can sing! Then I got hooked to her album and trust me, it was really good. I like it very much.

At her concert, she performed about 13 songs started with 'Who's Laughing Now?' which got everyone excited to see her live. If you think she can't sing live, you're wrong. Although not everyone can sing perfectly live as compared to their own album, she pulled it very well. Crowd's favourite such as 'Price Tag', 'Do It Like a Dude' and 'Who You Are' were performed as well. The one-and-a-half hour concert was ended with 'Domino'.

In sum, it was great to have her in Malaysia. If she ever comes here again, I would recommend everyone to go for her concert. Thanks to Tune Talk for the invite!

Jessie J was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 16 March 2012. For more Tune Talk events, like their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/tunetalk

HEAR ME: Zedd 'Slam The Door'

Zedd is not a familiar name in Malaysia. Germany has been paying some props to Zedd over the years for his amazing remixes for Armand van Helden, Wolfgang Gartner and Fatboy Slim, and he was also appeared in Skrillex EP, which was almost a full album, for his remix of Skrillex's 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites'. Early this month, Zedd has just came up with a new track entitled 'Slam the Door'. The track reached the #1 spot this week. If you enjoy big room electro sound, you have to check this tune.

ADVANCE WARNING: Loud pres. Hardwell @ Zouk KL (11/2/2012)

We saw Hardwell rip the dancefloor with his amazing set last year in front of a packed crowd at Zouk. This February, this young Dutch DJ will return to give you more bangers. He will not give you the time to breathe. Brace yourself for another big night out with Hardwell in Kuala Lumpur.
Image Zouk

Hardwell is an award-winning DJ, producer, label manager, music lover, DJMag Top 100 list newcomer and he is barely 23 years old. For the last couple of years, Hardwell has been recognised by the industry as having a new and refreshing take on a scene that continues to evolve and seems to have an everlasting shelf life. His identity and musical development can be summed up in a single phrase, “Big Room House”.  He has created his unique trademark as a DJ and producer around this sound.

Hardwell’s international breakthrough came with his Show Me Love vs. Be bootleg of Steve Angello and Laidback Luke’s track and Robin S’ classic. That bootleg became one of the biggest and most played dance hits of 2009. In 2010 Hardwell went on to release several noteworthy tracks such as Alright 2010 ft Red Carpet and Feel so High ft I-Fan, licensed to 10 countries. Tracks like Molotov and Voyage and Move It To The Drum, a co-production with Chuckie, have had great support from the biggest names in the scene.

With his successful collaboration with Tiesto for 'Zero 76', this new kid on the block is here to stay. If you have not listen to his set before, make your way down to Zouk and make sure you have a pair of good shoes to keep you dancing all night.

Date: 11 February 2012
Venue: Zouk
Cover charge: RM55 (ladies), RM65 (men) - incl. 1 drink.

AFTER PARTY: Djakarta Warehouse Project 2011 @ Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta - Indonesia (9/12/2011)

The Djakarta Warehouse Project is back for the third time last year with its biggest line-up so far including the legendary Roger Sanchez and Jazzy Jeff among other international acts in the bill over 3 arenas. Among all big parties happening in this region, I've decided to skip ZoukOut and flown to Jakarta for this massive party!

Djakarta Warehouse Project is organised by Ismaya Group, the people behind some of the best concerts in Jakarta including Suede, Two Door Cinema Club, Cut Copy, Digitalism and many more, and owner of outlets such as Dragonfly and Blowfish. So this is the best time for me to experience the "IsmayaLive" since it is a music festival. Plus, I haven't been to Jakarta for the past 3 years now and I really, really miss the city.

Roger Sanchez on the decks

I have not been to many international festival besides ZoukOut and Avalon in Singapore but overall, I can say that Djakarta Warehouse Project is one of the best parties I've been to. It's a whole different experience, I must say. I'm not sure how many people were there but Roger Sanchez played in front of a packed crowd. Without a doubt, his set was fucking ace.

Besides Roger Sanchez, I think Moonlight Matters did a pretty good set at the Black Area by Clear. He pulled everyone on the dancefloor with his indie disco vibe. Same goes with the legendary Jazzy Jeff. Fans of old skool hip hop went bananas when he dropped his cutting-edge DJ set. Don't be surprised. I saw a tudung girl when Jazzy Jeff was on stage.

If I have the money, I don't mind flying there again for the next Djakarta Warehouse Project. It is a good music festival which I would recommend to everyone besides ZoukOut in South East Asia.
